We're excited to introduce a new series on our blog: Where are They Now! This series will spotlight former Cram Crew students and showcase how they've utilized the skills they learned while using our services to flourish at college and in their careers. First up: Jordan Rossman, a fashion editor based in New York City and a contributor to the Cram Crew blog.

Jordan Rossman, Fashion Editor at Editorialist

Jordan Rossman (formerly Goldberg) was a Cram Crew student from 2012-2014, utilizing both our Test Preparation and College Readiness services. "Cram Crew was the support I could rely on while navigating all these unfamiliar territories," she shared. "I built relationships with my Cram Crew Consultants and was able to lean on them as I navigated the entire college application process." As a junior in high school, Jordan had her heart set on either the University of Texas or the University of Georgia. After conversations with her Cram Crew Consultants about what she was looking for in a university experience and visits to both campuses, the University of Texas earned her number one spot. "I loved the way it felt on campus; buzzy, challenging, and somehow close-knit despite the large class sizes," she explained. “My Cram Crew Consultants also helped me understand how I’d be able to tailor my class schedule to help me achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a therapist.” Her Cram Crew Consultants helped her through tough patches with the ACT; math and science were areas where she required more support. With the support of her Consultants, she was able to achieve her goal score after just a few tries. Next came her college applications, where she similarly utilized her Cram Crew team to get her essays and application documents turned in ahead of their deadlines.

Jordan was admitted to the University of Texas School of Social Work and accepted instantly. "It felt like an easy yes," she shared. "I was so excited to start planning everything, from my freshman year roommates to my class schedule." Jordan attended orientation that summer and began sorority recruitment shortly after. Amidst a busy school and social life, Jordan met her now husband, Adam. "I am so grateful for what the University of Texas brought me, and I couldn't have gotten there without Cram Crew," she said. "I made some of the best friends, learned so much about myself and my major, and met my husband."

After graduating from the University of Texas with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Jordan had a clear destination in mind: New York City. A junior year internship at a nonprofit had planted a seed—it showed her that Manhattan had opportunities unlike anywhere else—and she chose to return after graduation. "I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do next, but I felt like Social Work wasn’t the best fit for an empath like me—it felt too hard! Instead, I had to speak to my drive and willingness to work hard in job interviews. And luckily, it worked!” she tells Cram Crew. She started in sales at Yelp before moving into a public relations agency, where she spent three years finding her footing. It was there that she finally felt she had discovered her life's passion: storytelling. She applied—and was later accepted—to New York University's Master’s in Journalism program. She graduated from the two-year program in 2020 and landed a job as a fashion editor at luxury digital publication Editorialist. Jordan has been at Editorialist for four years now and has grown into the Managing Editor, where she oversees all of the content on the digital magazine, attends fashion weeks around the world, and produces monthly photoshoots.

"While my career has been long and windy, the skills that I learned during my time with Cram Crew have stayed with me: how to work hard, how to reflect on your path, how to tell your story in a compelling way," she shared. "These skills are ones that you have to continue investing in, and Cram Crew helps lay the foundation." While working her job at Editorialist, Jordan has come back to Cram Crew as a contributor to the blog. “I thought this opportunity could inspire those who may want a career in journalism one day! There are so many incredible Cram Crew students with so much potential, and I just want to be a little part of their journey,” she explains.

Jordan's story is a reminder that the path to success isn’t always linear—and that with the right support and willingness to pivot, students can thrive no matter where life takes them. With the skills developed with Cram Crew, they’ll be able to think critically, pivot when necessary, and put their best foot forward no matter what.
